5 Years ago I got a call from my daughter saying she was in labor and I needed to be on my way. I left work in Bellevue,went home to Kirkland to pack a bag and headed east on 1-90 in the dark to make the 5 plus hour trip to Pullman. I ran into ice fog in Ellensburg and crawled along the shoulder of the road for 25 miles. Visibility was ZERO. After I crossed the Columbia River in Vantage the fog melted off my windshield and it began snowing. It took me 7 hours to get to Pullman. It was a nightmare trip but I made it to the hospital to watch my first grandchild being born!
